How to Create KPIs in SAP Business One?

Key Performance Indicators or KPI is a term that is arguably one of the most used term in across industries and businesses. They’re a measurable value that demonstrates how effectively your business is achieving its key objectives.

KPIs help you evaluate the performance of various business processes and activities such as projects, products, programs etc. across your organization. They also help you understand how the strategies put into place for different processes are working and whether it requires tweaking to make it more efficient.

In SAP Business One along with the performance results, KPIs also provide data forecasts. These not only help in measuring and adjusting in the present but also help you make strategic decisions that fuel growth and help you gain an upper hand over the competition.

Primarily, KPIs in SAP Business One are divided into four types – Financial, Customer, Process, HR and Innovation. But they’re not limited to them. You can create KPIs that are integral to your organization.

So the question arises, how do you create a KPI in SAP Business One? First, you log into Pervasive Analytics Designer. Then:

  1. Select the “New KPI” option in order to commence the process
  2. Out of the available query & data sources, choose the ones you want as KPIs.
  3. Define the various Value Settings and set Display Settings for the KPIs.
  4. Save the KPIs.

Once saved, the users or departments authorized to view and use those KPIs will have full access to them.
